Designing relationships, one project at a time.

I had the pleasure of working closely with Ana on Pacific Northwest Ballet's Encore programs. Ana managed our program for many years, and in the fall of 2019, I began managing the program on PNB's end. I quickly learned what an asset it was to have Ana on our team. Ana's design work elevated the PNB program experience. Our programs were both beautiful and informative, and Ana's attention to detail was second to none. Managing multiple deadlines, tedious but important corrections, and creating beautiful artistry with our content was Ana's specialty. We felt very cared for and knew our programs would turn out perfect every time. And they did.

Ana is friendly, meticulous, well-organized and conscientious. It is a pleasure to work with her. Every month for years, she thoughtfully and carefully guided our disparate group of galleries into a polished magazine presentation. While practical, her assured sense of good design helped us to come together seamlessly.

Working with Ana was such a happy partnership. For several years, we collaborated on the design for Stanford Live’s program magazines which were published by Encore. They produce a huge volume of publications, but you would have never known it by the care, creativity, and thoughtfulness of Ana’s work. She always seemed to have time for us and always had a fresh perspective or solution to a design challenge we were facing. Most notably, she helped us when we transitioned our publication from a standard performance program to a true magazine, which made the process even more complex. But, again, Ana always made it seem so easy.

I worked with Ana for many years at Encore. She was responsible for working closely with our publishing clients to fulfill their expectations and needs on their program books. Our clients highly valued her work and collaboration. I also appreciated her smooth coordination when there were staff changes on the client side. This always required some extra training and indoctrination so that there was a seamless transition in the workflow. Ana was excellent at handling any situations that arose, as well as anticipating when I needed to be involved. This skillset was very valuable given the large number of arts groups that we serviced.

From the get-go, Ana proved to be a true partner in the production of San Francisco Opera's Encore programs. Her expertise in leading the design process, navigating smoothly through a branding redesign, and troubleshooting technical challenges led us to successfully meeting our timelines on every production schedule. Her proactive approach to each issue, kicking off each new production with a reminder of our process and identifying efficiencies, strengthened our product. Ana embodies all the best qualities of a team player — an excellent and transparent communicator, organized and detail-oriented workflow, and patience and flexibility in adapting to change. Ana demonstrates a solution-oriented approach to all projects and would make a stellar addition to any company.

From her aesthetic excellence to her focus for detail, Ana is the ideal graphic artist.  As a member of the Encore team, she served as my primary contact for Seattle Opera’s mainstage programs, a magazine-styled publication comprising 24 or more pages. From initial design concepts to final press preparations, Ana worked with me to create programs that were visually appealing and logically laid out. Ana, always attentive to details, made sure that even the smallest graphic elements received full attention. What’s more, she made sure that we hit each deadline on schedule or ahead of it. Working with Ana was always enjoyable and I endorse her work wholeheartedly. I’m definitely a fan!

I was very fortunate when Ana signed on to help facilitate the creation and publication of the Big Muddy Film Festival’s 40th Anniversary program. BMFF is one of the oldest student produced film festivals in the United States. Ana guided the design process from inception to print. It was a relief for me to have someone of her caliber oversee this special project. I found Ana to be sensitive to the history and branding of the festival, firm and proactive in communicating deadlines and timetables, and meticulous in every creative and aesthetic detail. Working with Ana enabled the student managers to remain on task while being exposed to the real world interactions, expectations, and workflows necessary for a successful forward facing publication. Our publication and our staff benefited immensely and I cannot recommend her enough.
