Seattle Symphony's seasons tend to be ambitious; often producing ten performance programs a year with many that are 64 pages or more in size. Because each book tended to be quite large, Seattle Symphony requested a new set of page designs to allow for easier initial copy fitting and photo placement; with the goal being to shorten the overall production time for its staff. In addition, they wanted to update the design of an events calendar to combine two pages into one, include space for promotional photos, and increase the readability of each event.
The images shown here are a mix of design comps and printed magazine pages; some of which were part of a presentation given to the Vice President of Communications, Art Director, and Publications Editor.
I worked with Seattle Symphony as a layout artist for eight seasons; sending a total of 84 publications to press.
